We’ve had so much fun running our photo competitions this year, and we just loooove seeing the creativity oozing from the flow community so... we’ve decided to run one more before this year is out. This time, it’s festive themed!
Simply head on over to our Facebook, upload a festive themed flow photo of yourself (or someone else, but make sure you’ve got their consent first!) and you’re instantly in for a chance to win a $50 Fire & Flow NZ voucher.
The top 5 entries will be shortlisted by us on Saturday 16 December, and then the public will have the weekend to vote for their fave. We’ll announce the winner on Monday 18 December. Good luck! We look forward to seeing what y’all come up with!

STAY SPINFORMED!
No doubt you've all seen someone spinning staff, or even had a go yourself. You may even be pretty skilled at this well-known prop.
BUT, did you know...?
Here in Aotearoa, mau rākau (Māori use of weaponry) was an important part of traditional Māori society and weapons were taonga (treasures), often handed down from one generation to the next.
A common weapon was the taiaha – an elaborately carved and decorated fighting staff. The taiaha was usually crafted from hard wood, although sometimes it was made from whale bone.
Fun staff fact: the most spins of a fire staff in one minute is 188! This impressive world record was set by Muhammad Rashid of Pakistan on June 7th, 2015.
