Welcome back to our monthly newsletter, and the first of the new year!
The F&FNZ team all enjoyed a well-deserved break and embraced some quality time with family and friends – something that was much needed after the separation from loved ones in 21.
We’re all feeling refreshed, recharged, and ready to tackle whatever 22 has to throw at us (if January is anything to go by, we’re in for another ride of a year)!
We’d like to take a moment to acknowledge those involved in the event industry. With the entire country at Red, most summer festivals and events have been cancelled. Those who put in countless hours of blood, sweat, and tears have been left drained and without work for the foreseeable future. Our hearts go out to you during these challenging times.
The Red setting not only means cancelled events, but there are restrictions in place across all of Aotearoa and continued social distancing. Let’s face it – we’re all a little jaded after the past 2 years of cancellations, restrictions, and social distancing. Physical and mental health across the nation has taken a beating, and that’s no surprise given the chaos we’ve been thrown into. Now, more than ever, it’s important to take care of ourselves so we can continue taking care of each other.
Summer won’t last forever so get outside and make the most of the sunshine, the long days, and the warm nights. Grab your props, head to the park or beach, connect with your local fire and flow group, soak up some vitamin D (don’t forget to slip, slop, slap, and wrap), and GET MOVING! Your body, mind, and spirit will thank you for it.
