LAST DAY TO ORDER TO GET YOUR GOODIES BEFORE CHRISTMAS IS

FRIDAY 15 DECEMBER

Our website is jam packed with awesome goodies ready to send in time for Christmas. Some props take us a couple of extra days to prep, so you officially have just two weeks left to order in time for us to get everything sent by the NZ Post cut off date for Christmas postage.

Don’t delay, do your Christmas shopping today!

We ran a photo comp in September, and we absolutely loved the amazing photos that came in and the talent that was showcased from spinners all around Aotearoa. We highly recommend scrolling back on our pages to see them all!

AND, we’ve just finished up our most recent competition which means… it’s time to vote! We’ve shortlisted our top five faves and we need your help in choosing our winners. Head on over to our Facebook and Instagram to vote for your favourite and help them score a $50 voucher for Fire & Flow NZ.

Miss out on entering this one? Never fear! We’ll be running another photo comp later this month so keep an eye on our socials to get yourself in the draw.

PLEASE WELCOME THE NEWEST MEMBERS OF OUR
FIRE & FLOW WHĀNAU

MEET JARED!
Jared is our fantastic new Prop Maker.

Joining Fire & Flow NZ in late October, Jared has found his groove in crafting hoops and honing staffs.

With an extreme passion for pop culture, Jared finds working with Fire & Flow NZ to be a great creative outlet, finding that he is also getting more in touch with nature and the world around him.

Originally from Wellington, Jared moved to Taranaki and found Fire & Flow NZ through multiple sightings at local markets and fairs, and developed his own interest in flow arts. Loving the crafting side of things, he decided to join the lovely Fire & Flow NZ team as a hoop-smith, staff crafter and all around handy guy.

Working closely with Hannah and Tim, Jared is gaining the knowledge needed to cover all bases at the home office to let Hannah and Tim do festivals this summer and have more time for their family, while still bringing you the same great safe flow experience you have come to know and love.

Great to have you on board, Jared!

MEET GRACIE!
Gracie Cave aka Graciiegliitch is our sparkly new Content Creator.

Introduced to the flow world through hoop by a talented friend she met at an event, Grace was immediately obsessed with hoop flow and started hooping every day onwards! Though a hooper at heart, she now spins multiple other props and is always looking to expand her knowledge with new ones.

She realised that a sense of flow/prop manipulation had been in her from a young age; dating back to fond memories dancing as a toddler with the mesmerising silk scarfs in her Ouma's drawer.

Grace is a wife and mother to three, living in the beautiful Bay of Islands, Northland, where she also runs a family owned Bouncy Castle business - Fantasy Bouncy Castles - which fits perfectly into her love of all things fire, flow, and circus!

In between family life Grace has begun her journey in performing at local events and festivals. Her favourite form of performing is roaming, where she gets to interact with the crowds and meet like-minded people.

She loves to share her passion with others and is always eager to introduce people to flow; even building a beginner hoop workshop to teach at festivals and events to start people on their flow journey and further the knowledge of hoopers.

You can now find Grace on Fire and Flow NZ social media as a content creator, sharing a new series of tutorials, her beautiful flow style, and handy reviews for props.

So please help us welcome Grace to the team and give her a follow @gracie.cave

These palms come in three sizes, and the smaller size is perfect for beginners. The larger size has a bigger wick, which means a bigger flame and can feel hotter, so this one is better suited for slightly more experienced users.

STAY SPINFORMED!

Teaming up with our Product Spotlight, we’re revisiting our in depth look at the dragon staff.

Did you know… The inventor of the dragon staff, Gora Krisztian, just wanted “a crazy staff with lots of flames”, and came up with the idea for dragon staff in 2002.

Many people believe the dragon staff originated from the Chinese martial art, Fei-Cha (using a trident, or fork style staff). While there are similarities between the two props this is not actually the case, and Gora didn’t even learn about Fei-Cha until after inventing the dragon staff!

You can read more awesome dragon tid-bits in our article Age of the Dragons.

Here’s what Jess from Christchurch had to say about our one piece dragon staff:

Highly recommend! These guys were super helpful and had great communication, the staff is excellent quality and arrived super quick! I will definitely shop with them again. THANKS TEAM! :)

Cheers Jess!
