Warmer days are on the way!

Warmer days are on the way!

How are we at the end of August already?!
We don’t know about you, but time is certainly flying for us!

The best thing about it being August is that the cold, wet, winter months are finally giving way to the reinvigoration of a blossoming spring. With that comes a revival of nature and the promise of long, warm, sun-filled days to follow - the kind of days that are perfect for getting some spin time in! Check out our range of non-fire flow props and get yours now before the summer rush.

The Auckland Fire and Flow community know how to make the most of the warmer evenings, meeting each Sunday from 5pm (sometimes earlier - keep an eye on the FB page for regular updates) at Western Springs for a fire and flow jam.

They have community props available for use, or you’re welcome to bring your own. For those wanting to spin fire, there is a koha for community fuel, and for those just wanting to watch, well, it’s free!

If you’re based in Auckland or find yourself passing through on a Sunday, go and check it out.

If you’re new to flow arts, or are looking to improve your knowledge and skills, there are heeeaaps of resources to help you take those first and further steps in your flow journey, from online tutorials to flow events and festivals to regional flow groups with regular meetups.

Take a gander at our Intro to Flow Arts article for a quick snapshot of some of the props in use around the world. Over the coming months we’ll be showcasing each prop with links to in-depth articles about them, their history and origins, and how they fit into the flow arts world today.

We love our flow family and strive to support the flow community of Aotearoa in any way possible. If you’re involved with a fire and/or flow group, or are organising a flow event (no matter how big or small) and would like us to feature your group or event in our newsletters, flick us an email at community@fireandflow.co.nz.

You can also check out our list of regional flow groups and festivals and events to see what’s going on in your area, or to help you make a destination decision for those upcoming summer road trips!

Don’t forget to save our email address if you enjoy our updates - this will direct these emails right to your inbox instead of your promotions folder!
