The clocks have gone back and we’re now coming to terms with the fact that it’s April already with Easter and school holidays just around the corner. 7-9 April The Gypsy Fair has been serving up arts and crafts, music, delicious food, circus and flow, and beautiful smiles around New Zealand since ages ago. Tahi Festival is a ten day event in Wellington showcasing NZ’s highest quality solo performers. Alongside an array of awesome performances, Tahi offers a range of workshops for those wanting to try something new or to upskill, plus networking opportunities.
While the event itself isn’t on until September, they are currently seeking expressions of interest for performers - open now until 14 April. If you reckon you’ve got something special to bring to the stage (we think you do!) register your interest!

Hooping is an excellent way to keep active, and has been a beloved pastime for children (and adults) for countless generations.
Did you know..? The humble hoop has been around for thousands of years, from ancient Egypt to ancient Greece, all the way to the land down under, good old ‘Straya! In fact, it was the sight of Aussie kids playing with hoops that inspired Wham-O to release their iconic 'Hula Hoop' back in 1958.
Hoops come in a range of variations, from size to weight, and while it may seem backwards, a lighter, smaller hoop may not necessarily be easier to use. For a more in-depth exploration of this remarkably round prop, be sure to check out our article!
